Sun lenses are tinted lenses (solid or gradient) that protect you from the harmful rays of the sun. We recommend polarized lenses that block glare as well as both the UVA and UVB rays that can damage your eyes.
Untinted corrective lenses do not protect your eyes from UVA/UVB rayes, so unless you wear contact lenses with non-prescription sunglasses, you should consider obtaining a pair of prescription sunglasses.
We would be happy to consult with you and explain the tinted lense options to you; if you're considering making this move, please make an appointment to come into our Irvine optometry office.

Don't Want to Carry Multiple Pairs of Glasses Around?
If you don't want the hassle switching between your regular prescription lenses and your sunglasses, you may want to consider Transition Lenses. Transitions photochromatic lenses change from clear to tinted when exposed to UV rays, allowing you to forgo the separate pair of sunglasses. Learn more »
