Bifocal Lenses
Bifocals are lenses that provide correction for both distance and reading by integrating two different prescriptions into a single lense. A line separates the distance area (top of lens) from the reading area at the bottom of the lens.
Trifocal Lenses
A trifocal lense is simply a bifocal lense with an extra viewing area inserted between the distance area (top of lens) and the close-up area (bottom of lens). The center section allows for intermediate distance correction for viewing objects in the middle distances such as computer screens, car instrument panels, etc..
A trifocal lense has two visible dividing lines that mark the borders between the three viewing areas.
